Ingredients

  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 tbsp Granulated Sugar
  • 1 oz Bourbon (Old Fitzgerald 12 year)
  • 3/4 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 3/4 cup Whole Milk
  • Cocoa for garnish

Instructions

  1. Crack the egg and separate the yolk into a mixing bowl.
  2. Beat the egg yolk until it becomes thick and creamy.
  3. Add the sugar to the beaten egg yolk and mix well.
  4. Pour in the bourbon and refrigerate the mixture - this can be done a day ahead.
  5. On the day of serving, whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract together until soft peaks form.
  6. In a separate bowl, whip the egg whites into soft peaks.
  7. Combine the egg yolk and bourbon mixture with the milk in a punch bowl.
  8. Gently fold in the whipped cream and the whipped egg whites.
  9. Refrigerate the eggnog until ready to serve.
