Ginger-Pear Smash
A refreshing and tart cocktail with muddled pear, vodka, and ginger syrup.
Ingredients
- 1/8 cup sliced, peeled ginger
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 oz. vodka
- 1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 pear, chopped, peeled, and cored
- Ginger ale, to top
Instructions
- Make the ginger syrup by combining sliced ginger, sugar, and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan. Boil over medium-high heat, then let it cool to room temperature. Strain out ginger solids and discard, keeping the syrup in an airtight container.
- Divide chopped pear between a 12 oz. tall glass and muddle with a wooden muddler.
- Pour 2 oz. vodka over the muddled pear, and fill the glass with ice.
- Add 1/2 oz. ginger syrup and 1/2 oz. lemon juice to the glass, and stir to combine.
- Finish by topping with ginger ale.
