Ingredients
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 oz rum
- 1/4 tsp fresh grated nutmeg
- 1 egg white
- 1 tsp sugar
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk the egg yolk until it lightens in color and thickens. Gradually add 2 tbsp of sugar and continue whisking until the sugar dissolves.
- Add the milk, cream, rum, and nutmeg to the yolk mixture and stir to combine.
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg white to soft peaks. Gradually add 1 tsp of sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the egg white into the yolk mixture. Chill and serve.
