Ingredients

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 oz rum
  • 1/4 tsp fresh grated nutmeg
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tsp sugar

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk the egg yolk until it lightens in color and thickens. Gradually add 2 tbsp of sugar and continue whisking until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add the milk, cream, rum, and nutmeg to the yolk mixture and stir to combine.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg white to soft peaks. Gradually add 1 tsp of sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the egg white into the yolk mixture. Chill and serve.
