Ingredients
- 2 basil leaves (extra for garnish)
- 2 tsp honey
- 4 dashes angostura bitters
- 2 slices orange peel (extra for garnish)
- 2 slices lemon peel
- 2 oz Whiskey or Bourbon
- juice of 1/2 lemon
- juice of 1 orange (or 1/2 cup orange juice)
- 1 egg white (optional)
- Ice
Instructions
- Fill a highball glass with ice.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine basil leaves, lemon peels, orange peels, honey, and bitters. Muddle for about 10 seconds.
- Add whiskey, lemon juice, orange juice, egg white if using, and a generous scoop of ice to the shaker.
- Shake for 10-15 seconds until well mixed and frothy if using egg white.
- Strain the drink over ice into the glass. Top with additional orange juice if needed.
- Garnish with orange peels or basil leaves.
